Sevier River Water Users Assocation Receives Grant
In October 1999 the US Department of Commerce's National
Telecommunications and Information Administration announced
that the Sevier River Water Users Association in Delta, Utah would be
the
recipient of a $405,000 matching grant for the purpose of developing an
interactive water management network to improve water management,
water conservation, and result in better crop yields for the Sevier
River Basin.
This grant will allow the expansion of the web site
www.SevierRiver.org.
Partners in the project include: StoneFly Technology
in St. George, UT,
Utah State University,
the Utah Climate Center,
and the Provo office of the Bureau of Reclamation.
NTIA's Office of Telecommunications and Information Applications (OTIA)
assists state and local
governments, educations and health care entities, libraries, public
service agencies, and other groups in
effectively using telecommunications and information technologies to
better provide public services and
advance other national goals. This is accomplished through the
administration of the Telecommunications
and Information Infrastructure Assistance Program (TIIAP)
